Elephant Bar & Restaurant
Named 'Restaurant of the Year for the South West' in the Les Routiers in Britain awards, The Elephant in Torquay has helped put the English Riviera well and truly on the culinary map. It claimed a Michelin star in 2006 and is recognised as one of the most stylish restaurants in Devon. Head Chef Simon Hulstone is a winner of the Roux Scholarship and to date the only British chef to win gold at the World Chef Championships in France. He is supported by a talented young team of chefs, including the British Apprentice of the Year. Expect elegance and relaxed style here whether you’re eating casually from the bar menu or fine dining from the a la carte.

ODE Restaurant
Devon-born Chef Tim Bouget and his wife Clare opened ODE late 2006 on returning to the UK after having held senior positions in boutique hotels in the USA, Asia and the Middle East (including the famous Sandy Lane Hotel in Barbados and Begawan Giri in Bali). Tim brings his classical training with the Roux Brothers at 3-star-Michelin The Waterside Inn and Gaultiero Marchesi in London to this intimate 24-seat restaurant in the picturesque estuary village of Shaldon. The very best local produce is used, including line-caught sustainable fish and organic fruit and veg. The comprehensive wine list is also fully organic. ODE has been sensitively refurbished throughout using recycled glass, local woods and other environmentally friendly materials in keeping with the ‘eco-chic’ ethos of the restaurant.

The Drum Inn
A warm-hearted welcome Now that are extensive refurbishment programme is complete we'd like to tell you about all the changes we've made. The Drum Inn building and gardens have been restored with homage paid to the original design created by Sir Edwin Lutyens. Inside there is plenty of space to relax in comfort, three log fires, facilities for the disabled and ample parking outside. The gardens are landscaped with a wonderful view, no matter which angle you choose. Our menu of great British favourites is served every day from noon until 10pm. We change our menu four times a year to follow the seasons and this winter we have some truly tempting dishes to suit all tastes. We are open all day, every day and offer excellent and efficient service. Our wine list offers you New World wines of our usual high quality, all of which can be purchased by the glass or bottle.

Thatched Tavern
'Chocolate-box' thatched inn that has deceptively roomy bars and restaurant. Excellent food, well kept beers and an extensive selection of wines, all served in a friendly, family-run pub. The wonderful thatched building and the sunny garden offer the ideal surroundings for the ideal Devon pub lunch.

Cary Arms
"The Inn on the Beach" nestles at the foot of Babbacombe Downs and right on the beach. Breathtaking views across to Oddicome and on to Portland Bill. Outside there are 4 floodlit sun terraces from where you can watch divers in the bay, fishermen on the quay, and sailors in their boats. Excellent range of lunch-time snacks and meals. A new restuarant has recently been opened focusing on locally caught fish.

Hare And Hounds
Perfectly positioned on the A380 between Newton Abbot and Torquay, this exceptional pub boats an award-winning carvery and a contemporary world menu offering choices from local River Teign mussels through to Ostrich. There are daily ‘gastro’ specials and an extensive a la carte menu all prepared using the finest fresh produce and locally sourced meat and fish. Great for all of the family, a play area for the children is incorporated in a tastefully arranged garden area, ideal for al-fresco dining day or night as patio heaters are provided for those occasional chilly evenings. Well-trained, caring staff are on hand to ensure you receive a warm welcome and the best possible service. Restaurant reservations are advisable as the Hare and Hounds is a favourite local dining experience.
